Emily Haass Murphy
Emily brings over 20 years of experience in education, specializing in leadership development and professional learning. Emily co-founded Avem Education Partners where she supports organizations such as Instruction Partners, the New Teacher Center, and Education for Change. Previously, Emily was the VP of Schools for Innovate Public Schools, overseeing a leadership training program for over 75 school leaders in the Bay Area. She was a school leader for 8 years, including serving as the principal of Aspire’s ERES Academy, a K-8 school in Oakland, which won the California Title 1 Academic Achievement Award and implemented a blending learning model that was featured as one of Ed Week’s “Top 10 elementary schools to visit.” She began her educational career as a 7th grade English teacher through Teach for America. She has a Masters in Education Policy and Management from Harvard Graduate School of Education, a Masters in Administration through New Leaders, and a B.A. from Duke University.
