Kate Gottfredson

Kate is a trusted expert and advisor to school leaders and policymakers, helping mission-driven organizations navigate complexity and deliver impact. Through her consulting practice, she provides fractional executive expertise at the intersection of policy and practice, partnering with senior leaders, boards, and mission-driven education organizations. Over her career as a “systems wrangler,” she has played a central role in driving innovation in public education. At the district, state, and federal levels, Kate has advanced legislative and regulatory priorities that expand school choice, support educators, and shape fiscal policy. In addition to senior roles at two nationally recognized public charter school networks, Kate served as the Chief of Staff to the DC State Superintendent of Education and Deputy Chief of Staff at DC Public Schools. She brings clarity, strategic focus, and a passion for tackling tough challenges to every partnership, ensuring organizations have the tools and vision to thrive. Kate holds a Political Science degree from UC Davis and a Juris Doctor from the University of Arizona.
